The Melville Millionaires are pleased to announce that their new Head Coach and GM is Devin Windle. Devin was previously the assistant coach for the Nipawin Hawks.
He grew up playing hockey in Calgary, followed by a stop in Columbia Valley of the KIJHL. Once his playing career concluded he moved on to attend the University of Lethbridge where he obtained a bachelor of arts and science in Kinesiology and Pyschology. While attending school he spent three seasons as an Assistant Coach for the Midget AA Hounds which he helped guide to both league and provincial Championships. During that time he achieved his development I and II certifications from Hockey Alberta as well as other NCCP certifications. Devin then moved on to become an Assistant Coach with the Midget AAA Hurricanes. Following the season he completed Hockey Alberta’s High Performance I Coaching Seminar in Camrose en route to becoming the Head Coach of the Bantam AAA Golden Hawks.
Upon graduation Devin moved back to Calgary where he became involved with the Alberta Cup program as both an Assistant Coach and an evaluator. Going back to his roots he became the Head Coach of the NWCAA Minor Midget Bruins for two seasons where his team narrowly missed out of the Provincial Championship during the 2012-2013 season earning him Coach of the Year honors in the NWCAA.
During his summers he has spent time instructing camps and working with several spring hockey teams which have included athletes from timbits to pro.
