Henderson Cup Frozen Four


The snow keeps falling but the Henderson continues into March with only four team left in the hunt!

The North Final will include the Waldhiem Outlaws and the Wilkie Outlaws. The South Final will feature the Balgonie Bison and the Lumsden Monarchs. Both series will be a best of three games. Winners of each series will advance to the Henderson Cup Final.

Game 1 of the Balgonie/Grenfell South Semi Final Series went in favor of the Bison who won by a score of 5-3 at home in Balgonie at the Star Dome. Game 2 swung back to down the number one highway to Grenfell and was a nail biter that saw the Bison edge the Spitfires by a score of 3-2. Balgonie Bison win the series two games to none, sweeping the Grenfell Spitfires. The Balgonie Bison will advance to the Henderson Cup South Final vs the Lumsden Monarchs

The other South Semi final finished up this weekend as well. Game one saw the Lumsden Monarchs defeat the Kindersley Red Lions by a score of 5-3 in Kindersley. Game two back in Lumsden was a 7-2 blowout in favor of the Monarchs. The Monarchs sweep the three game series two games to none. Lumsden advances to the Henderson Cup South Final to play the Balgonie Bison starting on Friday March 9th at 8:30pm in Balgonie, Sk at the Star Dome.

The North Semi Final between Waldhiem and Wakaw went the distance and needed all three games to decide a winner. Game one saw the Outlaws hammer the Lakers 5-3 in Wakaw. In game two Wakaw was looking for revenge and they found it by dealing out a 4-1 loss to the Prairie Outlaws at home. Game three was do or die for both team, winner advances to the Henderson Cup North Final to face the Wilkie Outlaws. After a hard fought battle the Waldhiem emerged victorious by a score of 5-3 in Wakaw. Waldhiem Prairie Outlaws will advance to the North Final starting on Friday March 9th in Waldhiem vs Wilkie.

Game one of the North semi final series between the Wilkie Outlaws and the Hague Royals went in favor of Wilkie as the Outlaws doubled up the Royals 4-2 in Wilkie. Game two in Hague saw the Outlaws shutout the Royals by a score of 4-0. Wilkie Outlaws win the best of three series two games to none. The Outlaws advance to the Henderson Cup North final to take on the Waldhiem Prairie Outlaws.

Game one of the best of three South Final series between the Balgonie Bison and the Lumsden Monarchs starts Friday March 9th at 8:30pm in Balgonie at the Star Dome. Game two is the next day (March 10th) back in Lumsden at 8:00pm. Game three if need will be Friday March 16th in Balgonie at 8:30pm at the Star Dome.

The Henderson Cup North Final best of three series between the Waldhiem Prairie Outlaws and the Wilkie Outlaws will kick off on Friday March 9th at 8:30pm in Waldhiem, SK. Game two goes next Saturday March 17th for a St. Patrick's day showdown in Wilkie at 7:30pm. Game three will be the next day at 6:00pm in Waldhiem if needed.

The Henderson Cup final will begin sometime after March 19th to determine who this years Saskatchewan Senior A Mens Provincial Champion will be.
