Kindersley Iron Horse Klippers (SJHL) president Brett Sautner addressed Kindersley Town Council to request support in helping to stabilize the team’s financial position.
Sautner presented a business plan that detailed opportunities for increased community involvement and revenue generation, and asked Council to consider subsidizing the Klippers’ ice time to help position the team for success in the short term.
Council acknowledged that the Klippers bring great value to the community but also expressed a desire to hear input from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) about proposed changes to the league’s overall business model that would provide better support to individual teams.
Council agreed to provide the Klippers with a letter in support of the recommendations provided for Sautner to take to the SJHL’s annual general meeting in June.
