On November 7th, 2020 at 06:14 hours police were dispatched to the report of a stolen auto in progress in the 500 block of Toronto Street. A taxi had just been stolen by three occupants and was last seen at this location.
The taxi driver had been transporting two male occupants and one female occupant from the 4700 block of Victoria Avenue to the 500 block of Toronto Street. He asked for payment and the female became very aggressive and punched him in the face with her fist. The taxi driver got out of the cab as he was scared. The female got into the driver’s seat and drove away with the cab (approximately 1 block). The taxi driver ran after the cab because he believed that his fob would disconnect and then the car would stop. The taxi driver located his cab in the 500 block of Toronto St.
The two males and the female ran toward an address on the 500 block of Toronto St. Police cleared the address and located the suspects inside.
No one was injured as a result of this incident.
Twenty-three year old Rebecca PEIGAN was charged with the following offence:
-Robbery contrary to Section 344(1)(B) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Rebecca PEIGAN of Regina will make her first court appearance in Provincial court on Monday, December 21st, 2020.
