On Thursday, April 15, 2021 at approximately 5:42 p.m. police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Argyle Street for a Robbery. A male approached a female who was placing her child into her car seat and demanded the female give him the keys to her car.
The male threatened to harm the female and she removed her child from the vehicle and turned over her vehicle keys. The male entered the vehicle, however could not get it started. The male fled on foot and was located a few blocks away trying to destroy the key fob he had stolen. The male was arrested without incident. The victim was shaken, however neither her or her child was harmed as a result of the incident.
Twenty year old, Jayden Taypotat is charged with the following offences:
Robbery [CC 344(1) (b)]
Obstruction [CC 129(a)]
Breach of Probation [CC 733.1(1)]
Fail to Comply with a Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5) (a)].
Taypotat will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
