Two adults – a male and a female – have been charged in connection with the possession of a vehicle stolen out of Broadview on December 23rd.
On Christmas Eve, at about 3:30 in the afternoon, an officer working in the RPS Stolen Auto Unit noticed a maroon-coloured Ford Edge in the area of 11th Avenue and Hamilton Street.
The officer took note of the license plate information and learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen the day before: from Broadview, Saskatchewan.
The vehicle made its way to a business in the 1300 block of Broadway Avenue, where two individuals got out of the car. Officers followed them into the business and took both suspects into custody without incident. Both were arrested and charged for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Charged in this case are: 21 year-old Joshua Jeremiah NIPPI and 33 year-old Tracey Lynn JIMMY.
Both are charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [355(a) CC].
In addition, Tracey JIMMY is charged with Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].
Both accused were released on conditions with a future court date: April 19, 2021.
